This is both an expansion for Non Gratus Rodentum and a sneak peek at the in-development River Rats: Solitaire Action in The Mekong Delta.
This pack focuses on adding more uniqueness to each of your soldiers as well as additional types of action that can occur while the Tunnel Rats traverse the darkness. What will you choose do when you see a seemingly unarmed man ahead of you? Take the shot or take the risk?
Each of these new mechanics are showcasing parts of the larger design that will eventually allow your troops to battle under the ground, above the ground and the waterways of the Vietnam War.
This pack introduces a number of new features to the original solitaire dungeon crawl:
  • Soldier Traits: Soldiers can now have traits and skills that sets them apart from the group.
  • Non-Combat Encounters: Low threat encounters can now end without resorting to violence and can even result in getting free intelligence.
  • Action outside the Tunnel: While your Rats explore th tunnel, your support troops must now guard the tunnel and watch for ambushes.
  • Status Cards: Printable status cards that can be used to track soldier stats without the paperwork.

It is indeed, though it is moving slowly. The last year has shifted priorities in unexpected ways and River Rats ended up being a far larger project than originally expected. The core game is complete, but we're still running through playtests, editing and visual design. While we can't offer a schedule, we can say that we're doing our best to make this a worthwhile game by the time we get it into your hands.

I like what I've seen so far except for the minor typos and poorly written sentences. Hopefully fixed in further editing. Looking forward to more from this game and setting.

We absolutely plan to have additional editing passes to clean up typos and any oddly written sentences. We're still fairly new and our balance of producing content vs. resources spent isn't perfect yet. We're definitely aiming to improve. We're honored that you like the game and the setting and we appreciate you giving it a shot.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
