Premium Modular Galaxy Hex Tile STLs

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Raise your cardboard galaxy hex tiles from a popular space opera board game off the table and fit them into any combination your imagination can come up with. With these printable hex tiles you  may generate as many as you need for 3 player maps, 6 player maps, 7-8 player maps. Create sprialing galaxy maps or extended rings. You are no longer limited by what you can fit on a playmat.

These hex tiles use the Dragonbite system to keep the hex map together. With a dragonbite port on each side of the hex you can use the dragonbite clips to attach the entire board together in seconds. Prevent that table jostle or head desk from shifting your map. Need to move the entire board? No longer an issue since these tiles are connected and keeps your map intact.

Prevent table spills from reaching your cardboard, these tiles raise the galaxy 7mm off the table and surround each tile them with a 2mm lip.

Purchase includes the STL files to print the standard Galaxy Hex tile (holding a standard hex tile of 101mm x 116mm with about 1 mm extra for ease of cardboard tile removal) and the outter galaxy tile (holding the saw blade shaped tiles).

Dragonbite clip files can be obtained on Wargame Vault found HERE from Fat Dragon Games.

3P 3PS 3P Extended GHSM Saw tile Tiles and clips

Also included is a version of the hex tiles using 3mm x 1mm rare earth magnets instead of the clips. This will require one magnet per side (purchased separately, you'll need 222 magnets for a 6 player set up or 360 for an 8 player set up).

Tried to edit the previous post but doesn’t seem to be working. Give me a few days and I will have a new document out there. I need to take photos of everything and type up a document.

A good question. I should have created a build document once I added more files than just the hex tiles. The tile frames (TI4 Frame Tile 2.0, Mag Hex Tile Frame, and Two Mag Hex Tile Frame) are all one piece and do not require any other print assembly after ( other than the dragon clips or magnets). The top ring files are part of the storage system and are bigger than the hex tiles. It’s meant to hold three or six of the storage towers together but leave space in the middle for the nesting fleet stands to stack. I hope that clears it up a bit for you. You question points out that I need a build doc included so I will try to update this with something that shows what each file is used for.

I'm a little confused about the Top Rings. Do I alternate the Top Rings and a Frame Tile with just a Frame Tile? Also, it looks like I will need to size the rings to the Frame Tiles because the Rings look much larger than the Frame Tile. Is this correct?

Coming soon, I will also include a 2 magnet per side version of the hex tile if you prefer a little more hold strength. Also working on a storage solution/geometric art piece that will get included in this set. Update emails will go out as these get added, so prior purchasers will not miss out.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
